S1 Ep2: Permission to Dream

Special Guest: Jeanette Johnson

When I first met Jeanette, she was wearing an adorable yellow shirt with matching earrings and stylish white booties. I knew she was someone I was going to end up adoring. Turns out, I was right, as Jeanette is someone I now admire and look up to.

A little bit about Jeanette: she launched her fashion blog, J's Everyday Fashion, in 2010. Just three years later, it was named a top 10 fashion blog in the U.S. by traffic with more than 15 million pageviews per year, and has won multiple awards including ShopStyle's Best Everyday Style in 2016. Her first book, which is theological examination of the intersection of fashion and faith was released in 2017, and her socially conscious clothing line Eden & Ivy launched spring 2019.

In 2015, she married her sweetheart, Joshua, where they traveled the world together and created content for J’s Everyday Fashion for some of their favorite brands. They were always on the hunt for new photoshoot locations. They dreamed up their latest venture - Wall Crawl - in order to solve these common outdoor photography problems (hello air conditioning!), as well as to spread joy through color and creativity and provide an interactive experience that brings people together in today’s increasingly fast-paced world.

Overall I spent an accumulation of 40+ hours together throughout the week, and through those hours, I got to learn more about her story, her creativity, her fashion, her ENNEAGRAM (my favorite part, because we are both three’s!) but more importantly—how she embraced her creativity and life for the better. By the end of the week, I excitedly asked her if she would be a guest on my Podcast and here I am now, sharing with you some of the highlights of our episode!

Our conversation consisted of how she gave herself permission to dream, the many endeavors she has done over the years, and how crucial it is to just do it and stop second guessing ourselves.

Here is also behind the scenes of the week I had at Wall Crawl. I’ve watched it about 100 times at this point just because I can’t get over how pleasing the time lapses are (hehe.)
